Advertising & Garage Sales – Town of Ashland
Residents of the Town of Ashland are welcome to hold garage sales, yard sales, and small personal sales throughout the year. To help keep our community safe, clean, and well-organized, please review the guidelines below.
Garage & Yard Sales
No permit is required for garage or yard sales.
Sales should focus on personal household items (not ongoing commercial activity).
Sales are generally expected to run no more than a few consecutive days.
Please be mindful of parking, driveway access, and neighbor visibility.
Signs & Advertising
To maintain a neat and welcoming community:
Do not post signs on road signs, stop signs, or utility poles.
Place signs on your property or with property-owner permission.
Ensure signs are secure, readable, and weather-safe.
Remove all signs once your sale ends.

After Your Sale
Donate usable items to local charities or reuse centers.
Don’t leave items at the roadside.
For disposal of certain items, use Tri-M Sanitary–Recycling (fees may apply).
